SHE aims is to give Strength, Hope and Encouragement to young Muslim women and girls aged between 10-25, through facilitating a range of educational and inspirational workshops, activities, events, trips and conferences. The project is open to young Muslim women and girls from all backgrounds.

SHE is user-led and service provisions are tailored according to the needs of young Muslim women and girls. A number of young Muslim women of various ages, backgrounds and nationalities form the Project Steering Group. The group works with the staff to address the issues and concerns faced by young Muslim women particularly targeting the vulnerable and disadvantaged. The role of the group is to be involved in the planning, delivery and management of the project outcomes and milestones.

SHE works to support young Muslim women and girls struggling with issues centred on their identity, culture and religion whilst also addressing contemporary issues. The project provides activities, training and workshops in the following areas:

  • Be Safe
  • Be Healthy
  • Life Skills for Adulthood
  • Respect

The project provides young Muslim women and girls with a safe environment in which to discuss issues that affect them on a day to day basis. Our sessions are facilitated by qualified youth and community workers in a confidential and culturally sensitive manner. We aim to provide fun interactive group and one to one activities.

SHE works in partnership with local and neighbouring boroughs, faith organisations, schools, colleges, universities and youth/community groups.
